NAMIBIA, THE LAND OF VAST EXPANSES AND SMILING FACES

Namibia is a very unique country compared to its own neighbors, but also when compared to the rest of the world. It is the second most sparsely populated place on the planet next to Mongolia and parts of Siberia.
This is primarily due to large parts of it being semi-desert & desert ecosystems, making huge areas of the country extremely tough to live in. This has contributed to the forming of enormous nationals parks, conservancies and reserves. Covering the majority of the land mass of the country. With some of the largest national parks on the African continent, like Etosha National Park and the Namib Naukluft National Park. Home to Dead Vlei, its ominous trees and the famed Sossusvlei. All world heritage sites. Namibia is known for its wide open spaces and epic scenery and has been host to many a film production looking to capture the vast expanses. A Space Odessey, Mad Max Fury Road and Flight of the Phoenix were all filmed in the harsh landscapes Namibia has to offer. Namibias population is roughly 2.5 MILL people living in a country just under two and half times the size of Germany. This thinly spread population has led to the development of very unique regions in Namibia. In terms of the people that populate them and also their cultures and history's. From the iconic Himba people to the San of the rolling red sand dunes of the Kalahari. Namibia offers a mosaic of people and cultures to experience.
Jan - May
This time of year is very beautiful. The rains bring with it a burst of new life and the savannahs are turned green. But can be difficult to find wildlife as they will spread out more and frequent waterholes less.
May - Dec
Most likely the better time of year to come. Widlife concentrate at the waterholes, making the chances of sitings greater. This drier time also show cases Namibias desolate landscapes the way they are most of the year.
